What's in My Travel Kit

Traveling is always something I look forward to, and I know many others feel the exact same way! But leading up until your adventure begins, packing can sometimes be a little bit of a daunting task (especially when you’re trying to keep your health in mind during your travels). You often find yourself contemplating what’s important to pack to ensure you’re prepared for whatever your traveling itinerary may bring.

My Health Travel Essentials

So in an effort to not having you pack an entire suitcase full of supplements and snacks (which, tbh I have fully done before), I’ve whittled my travel kit down to the things that make the biggest impact on how you feel while you’re on the trip AND how you feel once you get back!

Whether flying or taking a fun road trip, know that supporting your health doesn’t need to be put on the backburner. That’s why below I’m sharing exactly what I pack to help you support your energy/hydration, digestion, protein intake, sleep, immune health, and flight anxiety while traveling!

So here’s what you’d find in my travel bag...

For Energy/Hydration

  • An empty water bottle - Always have this on hand for refilling on your journey. It’s beyond important to stay hydrated because did you know??? travel dehydration is one of the biggest reasons for feeling sluggish and having sluggish bowels.

  • Electrolyte packets - I like to use single-serve packets or you can even make your own little individual baggies. I aim to always drink these in the morning while traveling or before a long day-flight. Here you will find one of my favorite electrolyte packets Pickleball Cocktail so you can ensure you stay hydrated and energized for all of your travel adventures. I like this one because it supplies significantly more potassium than any other I’ve found in the market. Plus, use discount code: KAELYRD to save $10 off! There are many electrolyte products from that brand that I love - in addition to the Pickleball cocktail, the Adrenal Cocktail and Electrolyte Supreme are in my regular rotation.

For Digestive Support

  • Digestive Bitters - Traveling is always a fun time to try new foods or you might find yourself eating out more often than your normal. Taking digestive bitters is a great way to support your digestion during this time. Prioritizing consuming ~15-20 minutes before a meal.

  • Magnesium - Magnesium citrate is the form of magnesium that will best help you support your digestion (especially if you’re prone to getting a little bit constipated when you’re away from home). Please know though that magnesium citrate works by pulling water into the intestines to hydrate dry stool to make it more mobile. As I shared above, this is why it’s so important while traveling to stay hydrated. You just might be able to avoid your constipation while traveling.

For Easy Protein

For Sleep Support

  • Magnesium - Magnesium glycinate is the form of magnesium to help you best support your sleep. Shop here to find single-serve packets of MagSoothe, my favorite fast-acting, highly absorbable form of magnesium glycinate. Plus, use discount code: KAELYRD to save $10 off!

  • Melatonin - This can be great to use especially if you’re traveling across time-zones or significantly changing up your sleep/wake times. Supplement using 3-5 mg or tart cherry juice is a nice whole-food source.

For Immune Support

  • Biocidin Throat Spray - This is a great option for immune support as it raises your secIgA which is your immune system’s first line of defense. Plus, it comes in a smaller bottle so it’s perfect for easily adding into your purse or carry-on.

  • CellCore Binders - Binders help to “mop up” bacterial and viral by-products which can help reduce burden on the body’s immune system. Please know though that binders should be taken at least 2 hours away from prescription medications and that they can be taken with or without food. CellCore requires a practitioner access code - you can use mine: Jx7bfOmI

  • Whole-food Vitamin C - Opt for whole-food vitamin C over taking ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is only an isolated, synthetic part of whole-food vitamin C. Here you can shop my favorite whole-food vitamin C supplement Adrenal Cocktail which as the name implies also supports adrenal health. Plus, use discount code: KAELYRD to save $10 off!

For Flight Anxiety

  • Liposomal Neurocal by Designs for Health - This is a highly bioavailable source of both GABA and L-theanine to make for a less anxious in-flight. GABA is a very calming neurotransmitter, and L-theanine is an amino acid that has been shown to lower one’s cortisol response and also boost levels of GABA.
